Our original history dates back to the 1920s. In 1948 the company was nationalised. In the 1970s, our modern history began to be written, when an engineering plant was built as part of the repair base for the Czechoslovak power industry. Due to lack of space and production capacity, the entire plant was moved to new premises where the company still operates today.

The next turning point came in 1992, when the state-owned company became a joint stock company with a majority share of the foreign company Sanborn International BV. Since then, most of the plants have been modernised. The company's investment policy has ensured improvements in technology and production quality, as well as an increase in the company's production and storage space.

In 2023, the Hungarian industrial holding ORIENS becomes the owner of Sanborn. The aim of the new owner is to build a strong group of engineering companies around Sanborn. Already in the following year, two smaller engineering companies, S&K Tools and Znojemské strojírny, were acquired during 2024 and fully integrated into the structure of Sanborn and now all three companies operate under the common name of Sanborn s.r.o.
